Understanding Zero-Interest Promos in Philippine BNPL

What zero-interest installment offers usually mean — fine print, late fees, and promo expiry dates.

"Zero interest" is the most common BNPL hook in Philippine ads. It usually means no finance charge if all payments arrive on time within the promo window — not that the item is cheaper than cash.

Read for these clauses

  • Late fee tables — sometimes a flat ₱200–₱500 per missed date
  • Promo SKU lists — zero interest may apply only to selected merchants
  • Plan length — 3-pay vs 4-pay may change eligibility
  • Early payoff — rare, but some apps still expect full schedule admin

Compare to card promos

Credit cards occasionally offer 0% installment at select merchants for 3–12 months. BNPL can be faster to approve but may lack purchase protection features your card includes.

Neither is "free money" — both require discipline on due dates.
